After my daughter finished with school it was time to find another placement for her. I considered work programs that might match her needs but soon discovered that her abilities are not compatible with such an environment. I did not want her to stay home everyday so I decided to search out day programs.

When our children are growing up we have knowledge that someday they will become independent and move out. They will begin their own lives, face their own challenges and become responsible adults. As a parent we try and teach our kids right and wrong and at some point must acknowledge that we have done the best we could and our kids are now able to make decisions based on what we have taught them.

It has been several months since I started the process of obtaining guardianship and I have reached the final step. The court date has been established and I am feeling a sense of relief knowing that the process is almost done, yet I am still nervous. I do not believe there will be any issues or negative feedback from any parties involved in this process there is still a bit of apprehension about going before the judge.
